I see intego.backupassistant running which can conflict with your Mac's built-in security, but I doubt that would be the cause of the icon corruption. I was surprised to see it was a mid-2010 21.5" iMac! The SSD really makes quite a difference. When I saw the runtime on your report, I expected your specs would be for a much newer Mac.
